RUSSIA: 6 MEDIA EXECUTIVES TRAINED IN THE PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF ISAS BC 9001:2003 STANDARD

The following media executives from the Federation of Russia have successfully attended a one day course on the practical implementation of ISAS BC 9001:2003 standard organised by Internews in Moscow

THE SWISS SOCIETY OF PHARMACISTS SSPH HAS SUCCESSFULLY PASSED ITS ACCREDITATION SURVEILLANCE AUDIT

In the framework of its second accreditation period of 3 years (2004-2007), the Swiss Society of Pharmacists has successfully passed the accreditation surveillance audit corresponding to ISAS QMS PHARMA 2010 scope. With 274 pharmacies certified  in Switzerland so far,  i.e. 15% market share, and the recent development in Europe, the ISAS QMS Pharma certification scheme is developing satisfactorily.

TRANS TV INDONESIA SOON CERTIFIED BY DNV AGAINST THE REQUIREMENTS OF ISAS BC 9001:2003

Trans TV is a 4-year-old Indonesian commercial TV company, based in Jakarta which broadcasts a wide range of general and specialized programs, mostly focusing on news and entertainment. In August 2006 it ranked three at the national level in terms of average market share. It covers approximately 60% of Indonesia through its 31 transmitters (the major one being located in Jakarta with 80 kW HF power), and reaches around 160 millions people out of a total population of 220 millions, i.e. 73% population coverage. Trans TV is totally digitalized and produces in house 77% of its programs. It is on air 20.5 hours per day, transmitting from 5 am to 1:30 am. During weekends and days off Trans TV is on air 24 hours.

dnvIn 2005, an agreement was established between the Media & Society Foundation (MSF) based in Geneva, and DNV Certification. This agreement authorises DNV to provide certification of media companies according to industry-specific quality management standards for broadcasting companies (ISAS BC 9001), and for companies belonging to the written press (ISAS P 9001).

Only companies with an agreement with MSF are authorised to use these standards for certification, and DNV is the first (and presently only) certification body that certifies to these standards.

RESULTS OF A SURVEY ABOUT THE COMPLIANCE OF RUSSIAN MEDIA WITH ISAS BC AND P 9001 STANDARDS

Certimedia.org has realized an interesting survey about Russian media on behalf of the Geneva-based Media & Society Foundation. The results shown below were drawn from 34 self-assessment questionnaires on quality management within the Russian regional media, completed in Moscow by the participants of Internews Russia "Training the trainers programme", on January the 13th, 2006. The questionnaires – translated into Russian - dealt with around 150 points. The questionnaires were anonymous, but participants had to indicate their professional quality, that is managers and consultants (20) or journalists (14).
